Too many variables to say, your body weight, your metabolism, the drug’s half life…relax, avoid things that trigger anxiety and I’m sure your doctor will get your prescription fixed quickly. Will your chemist give you an emergency supply if he speaks with your doctor on the phone? Maybe 2 or 3 days worth? And I find that it is good to start pestering my doctor a month before my last refill is gone. She knows I’ll get anxiety quickly and understands that is why I call her almost every day until the prescription is filled. :)

    Dont worry.

Just relax and get your medicine as soon as possible and in future make sure you have some in reserve.

I would say 24 hours as you have to take them daily, if you don’t get a script tomorrow keep hounding them, I work as a doctors secretary and they can be very forgetful when it comes to signing them.

If you haven’t had any panic attacks and felt all right I would mention that to your doctor it could be that you need to change the amount your given etc.

Hope someone with more medical knowledge can give you a more acurate time scale

I’ve just done a Google search and have discovered that you need to wait five days after stopping Duloxetine before starting an MAOI antidepressant because of contra indications. This would suggest that this is the length of time needed for the drug to be eliminated from your body.

Are you taking the delayed-release capsules though, as there would be a different time span for elimination with these.

If you get your prescription tomorrow, you should be fine. As for a relapse regarding panic attacks- this is highly unlikely over the short term, as antidepressants induce subtle differences in your brain chemistry, which take much longer to reverse once you stop taking the drug. You may however, induce panic attacks by worrying about them.

    Hope this helps.

Here’s the official Duloxetine website for more information.
